Our Story

Max Hits Now was born out of a simple frustration: Today's Pop & Country hits kept getting buried under talk segments, repetitive commercials, and format restrictions that divided genres audiences already loved together. We set out to build a station that treated music as the entire product — not a wrapper around advertising real estate.

The station launched as an internet-first broadcaster, streaming globally over Shoutcast infrastructure capable of reaching listeners on every continent. From the beginning, we committed to a 24-hour continuous broadcast with no dead air, no filler, and no artificial barriers between a great pop anthem and a country chart-topper. That commitment hasn't changed.

Today Max Hits Now is available on the web, on iOS through the official Max Hits Now app, and via smart speaker — just say "Alexa, play Max Hits Now!" and the music starts instantly. We're also in the process of expanding to additional smart platforms so that wherever you listen, we're already there.

What We Play

Our format is Today's Pop & Country — we don't draw genre lines. If a song is a certified smash, we play it. That means you'll hear today's biggest chart names back-to-back with the country artists dominating streaming and touring. Artists like Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Luke Combs, Zach Bryan, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lainey Wilson all share the same rotation — because they share the same audience.

Our playlist is curated, not algorithm-generated. Every track earns its place based on chart performance, streaming momentum, and — frankly — whether it sounds great back-to-back with the song before it. We maintain a deep rotation of over 400 songs, cycling through enough variety that regular listeners aren't hearing the same three songs on loop, while keeping the hits prominent enough that casual listeners always hear something they recognize.

We update the rotation regularly as new music enters the charts, retiring older tracks on a rolling basis. If an artist drops a new single that's catching fire, it'll be in heavy rotation within days. Max Hits Now is a living playlist, not a frozen snapshot.

Who Listens

Our listeners span a wide age range, but the common thread is a taste for high-energy, hook-driven music across genre lines. We hear from commuters who stream us through their car's Apple CarPlay, gym-goers who keep us on during workouts, small business owners who play us in their shops, and remote workers who need an energetic background without the distraction of talk radio. The station is free to listen — there's no subscription, no sign-up, and no algorithm between you and the music.

We have a growing global audience, with listeners streaming from across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and well beyond. Internet radio has no signal footprint — if you have a connection, you have Max Hits Now, whether you're in Nashville, New York, London, or Sydney.

The Technology

Max Hits Now streams over the Shoutcast network, one of the internet's oldest and most reliable streaming protocols. The stream is available at high quality and can be received by any media player that supports HTTP audio streams — including VLC, Winamp, foobar2000, and Apple Music's internet radio feature — in addition to our own web player and iOS app.

Our website pulls live "now playing" metadata directly from the Shoutcast stream and matches it against Apple Music's database in real time, so the song title, artist, and album art on your screen always reflect what's actually on air. The recently played feed updates automatically and keeps a rolling log of the last twelve unique tracks, so you can scroll back and find a song you caught the tail end of.

Our Mission

We believe radio should feel alive. Not algorithmic, not passive, not sterile — alive. A good radio station has a point of view and a sound, and it holds that sound with conviction. Ours is high-energy, format-defying, and built for people who love music more than they love categories.

Max Hits Now will always be free to listen. Music should be accessible, full stop. We keep the lights on through advertising partnerships, and we work to make those ads relevant rather than intrusive. Your attention is valuable — we don't take it for granted.
